Historia de la filosofía
Tomo primero Tomo segundo Tomo tercero Tomo cuarto |

Introducing a Reactionary Aphorist
Counter-Currents | Gómez Dávila called his aphorisms “scholia” or “glosses on an implicit text,” with the text presumably being mostly favorite books from his library. Ordinary scholarship does not, of course, leave the texts it glosses implicit, so it is filled with quotations, constituting a kind of dialogue between the scholar and the usually greater thinker he is studying. Gómez Dávila preferred to keep this dialogue in the background, incorporating others’ insights so fully into his own thought that one could no longer tell — and it perhaps ceased to matter — where their thought ended and his own began. “To quote an author,” he wrote, “is to show that one is incapable of assimilating him.” |

Eric Voegelin | The Eric Voegelin Reader: Politics, History and Consciousness Selected and Edited by Charles R. Embry and Glenn Hughes | One should furthermore note as a parallel development the intellectual breakdown that has depressed the discussion of such questions in our time below the level that had been attained even by Polybius. Nevertheless, neither intellectual breakdowns nor political catastrophes must blind us to the fact that every revolution has its reasons. As an advance of meaning we must acknowledge the breakthrough to the structure of the world, both in nature and history. The modern release of individual and social forces is not reversible and, in particular, we shall never return to the limited historical horizon of early and medieval Christianity. One might even consider the deadly antics of our apocalyptic movements to have a cathartic function in the historical process. For the question of apocalypse has never been satisfactorily disposed of, either experientially or theoretically; hence, the apocalyptic movements of the intramundane variety, as they seem to move with acceleration toward a climax of lethal stupidity, may turn out to be the painful but inevitable process by which the problem of the apocalypse will be relegated to the past. |

101. Evidence of Israeli State officials’ specific intent (‘dolus specialis’) to commit and persist in committing genocidal acts or to fail to prevent them has been significant and overt since October 2023. Those statements of intent — when combined with the level of killing, maiming, displacement and destruction on the ground, together with the siege — evidence an unfolding and continuing genocide. They include statements by the following individuals in the positions of the highest responsibility: |
